Job Summary
Senior QA & Reliability Engineer role embedded in Swiss Re's Public Cloud Platform Delivery Team in Hyderabad, focused on building secure, scalable, and resilient Azure-based cloud platforms. You will define and execute test strategies (integration, performance, chaos, and resilience), build automated test frameworks, embed quality gates in CI/CD pipelines, ensure end-to-end validation and NFR compliance, drive defect analysis and root-cause resolution, establish quality metrics, design logging and monitoring pipelines, implement unit testing for PowerShell with Pester, enforce coding standards across PowerShell, YAML, Bicep, and JSON, champion a shift-left quality culture in SDLC/DevOps, apply chaos engineering using tools like Azure Chaos Studio or Gremlin, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, security, and architecture leads.
Required Qualifications
- Deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure — including Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Azure Chaos Studio, and related observability, reliability, and platform services
- Strong background in reliability or quality engineering — with proven experience designing and executing testing strategies (integration, performance, chaos/resilience testing) in cloud-native environments, including unit testing for PowerShell using Pester
- Solid expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) — particularly Bicep — and hands-on experience integrating testing and validation processes into CI/CD Azure DevOps pipelines for automated quality and reliability checks
- Proven experience with DevOps/DevSecOps methodology — including continuous deployment, delivery pipelines, test environments, and enforcing coding and configuration standards through linting across PowerShell, YAML, Bicep, and JSON
- Hands-on experience with platform engineering concepts — including golden paths, paved-road tooling, self-service automation, and internal developer platforms (IDPs), combined with experience in Azure landing zone design, platform automation, network topology, access management, and security architecture
- Experience with chaos engineering tools such as Gremlin or similar platforms beyond AzureChaos Studio
- Proficiency in one or more scripting/programming languages: PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Experience designing application workloads using Cloud Platform Services (IaaS and PaaS)
- Familiarity with privileged identity design, high availability architecture, and security architecture in enterprise cloud environments
- Strong stakeholder communication skills — comfortable working with Product Owners, Security Leads, Architects, and cross-functional engineering teams
- Ability to thrive in a transformational, fast-paced, and complex environment and deliver results with pragmatism and focus
- Proficiency in English (required)
