Job Summary
QA Software Engineer responsible for defining test strategy across functional, integration, regression, and automated testing; hybrid environment across legacy DB2/VSAM and cloud-native platforms; automation framework development; data integrity testing between mainframe and cloud; performance/scalability validation; CI/CD integration; lead quality engineering discussions and mentoring other QA engineers; familiar with Java and Python for automation, Selenium/WebDriver, Playwright or Cypress, API testing with RestAssured/Postman (and Karate), optional Appium for mobile, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools; experience with SQL-based backend validation, COBOL batch validation, and modern testing methodologies such as BDD, parallel running, and shadow testing; able to collaborate with DevOps, Data Architects, and Business Analysts to align testing outcomes with program milestones.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4+ years of experience in Automation Engineering & Tools
- Core Languages: Java (preferred), Python for test automation
- Frameworks: Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress
- API Testing: RestAssured, Postman, or Karate
- Mobile Testing: Appium (optional)
- Cloud Platforms: Azure (or AWS/GCP)
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
- CI/CD: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI
- Mainframe/DB2/VSAM knowledge
- SQL: PostgreSQL, DB2
- Batch Processing: COBOL-based batch jobs
- Testing Methodology: Parallel Running, Shadow Testing, BDD with Cucumber/Gherkin
- Defect Tracking: Jira, Azure Test Plans, ALM
- Automation Framework Development and Maintenance
- CI/CD integration of test suites
- Mentoring QA engineers and leading quality discussions
- Shodow testing and modernization testing
