Job Summary
QA Automation Engineer role focused on designing and maintaining end-to-end and API test suites in TypeScript/JavaScript (Playwright) for WellnessLiving’s cloud-based SaaS platform. Responsibilities include building automated tests, contributing to API test automation, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, performing manual and exploratory testing when automation is not feasible, and leveraging AI coding assistants to accelerate test authoring while maintaining engineering judgment. The role emphasizes collaboration with developers, reviewing AI-generated code, and improving test coverage, framework design, and quality metrics.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Software QA experience
- 2+ years of automated testing in production environments
- Hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript
- Experience creating and maintaining UI automated tests using Playwright
- Solid manual testing fundamentals (test plans, test cases, exploratory testing, regression testing)
- Solid API testing experience (REST), including request validation and negative testing
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Git fluency (branching, PRs, code review)
- Knowledge of SDLC and STLC in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with Jira (defect tracking) and TestRail (test management)
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve productivity
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — OR equivalent practical experience
- Nice-to-Have: SaaS or multi-tenant testing, booking/scheduling/payments testing, security testing fundamentals (OWASP Top 10)
- ISTQB or equivalent certification
