Job Summary
Senior QA Engineer who owns product quality and drives automation-first testing. Responsibilities include building and maintaining Playwright automation (TypeScript) as the primary testing approach across UI, integration, and unit layers; owning the quality gate for every release cycle; collaborating with an offshore QA team on regression execution; embedding with the product team to develop end-to-end test plans and drive quality outcomes for new features; serving as Zip's quality advocate in the deploy process; and continuously improving QA processes, tooling, and documentation. The role emphasizes analyzing failure patterns, improving test coverage, surfacing regressions before production, and a customer-focused approach to expand coverage and enhance product quality.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record owning QA end-to-end in a fast-moving SaaS environment
- Strong Playwright and TypeScript skills
- Experience with pytest or Python is a plus
- Automation-first mindset with knowledge of the testing pyramid
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across EPD functions
- Attention to detail and customer-first orientation
- Experience with financial or transactional workflows is a strong plus
