Job Summary
Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer role (Freelance, part-time remote) at Mindrift/Tendem project. You will own end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites using internal tools (Apify, OpenRouter) alongside your own workflows, ensure data quality through validation and formatting standards, and scale scraping operations with efficient batching. The role requires handling dynamic, JavaScript-rendered content, maintaining stability amidst site changes, and applying AI-assisted workflows with LangChain/OpenRouter in a hybrid AI + human system. Collaboration with Tendem Agents to provide domain expertise, critical thinking, and quality control while delivering structured datasets (CSV/JSON) for actionable results. Remote, part-time contract with hourly compensation up to $40/hour; 10–20 hours per week during active phases; project-based engagement.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development
- Strong experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar) including dynamic content (JS, AJAX) and APIs via proxies
- Proven ability to extract data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML)
- Solid background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets (CSV, JSON)
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker)
- Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks
- Self-directed work ethic with ability to troubleshoot independently

- English proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above
