Job Summary
Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer (Freelance) for Tendem project — part-time remote. You’ll own end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites, leveraging Apify and OpenRouter alongside your own tooling to collect, validate, and deliver structured datasets. Work with dynamic, JavaScript-rendered sources, enforce data quality, and scale scraping operations while monitoring failures. Requires 5+ years of relevant experience, strong Python scraping skills (BeautifulSoup, Selenium), experience with AWS/Docker, LangChain/OpenRouter, data cleaning/validation, handling anti-bot measures, and the ability to work independently. English proficiency (B2+), GitHub a plus. Project estimates ~10–20 hours per week during active phases; compensation up to $40/hour equivalent. This is a freelance, part-time role within Mindrift’s Tendem project in a hybrid AI + human workflow.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development
- Strong experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar)
- Experience with dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies
- Proven ability to extract data from complex structures
- Solid background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation
- Demonstrated experience handling anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker)
- Hands-on experience with LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar LLM frameworks
- Self-directed work ethic with ability to troubleshoot independently
- English proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above
