Job Summary
Senior-level role leading end-to-end Python application development in a quantitative/market risk domain. Responsibilities include hands-on architecture and implementation of Python-based frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask) for scalable, resilient applications; enforcing SDLC best practices; collaborating with Risk, Quants, FO, DevOps, and Production Support; driving stress testing and regulatory risk initiatives; and owning technical governance and delivery in a globally matrixed environment. Requires deep Python expertise, strong design patterns, experience with relational and NoSQL databases, RESTful API design, CI/CD tooling, cloud platforms, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and exposure to AI/ML tooling. Strong communication, leadership, and independent execution skills are expected, with 10+ years of relevant experience and advanced knowledge across software architecture, distributed systems, and risk-domain concepts.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in Application Development, primarily with Python
- Expert-level Python 3.x proficiency
- Experience with Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask)
- Distributed system design experience (Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture)
- Relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis)
- RESTful APIs and integration patterns
- CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines)
- Unix-based operating systems
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with Docker and Kubernetes
- Testing frameworks (Pytest, unittest) and TDD
- Secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10)
- Git proficiency (Bitbucket, GitHub)
- Experience in Quantitative/Risk domain
- Exposure to AI/ML tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and GenAI concepts
- Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- CFA/FRM certification (desirable)
