Job Summary
Senior Pump Mechanic responsible for disassembling, inspecting, repairing, painting, and preparing API centrifugal pumps and related rotating equipment; provide training and guidance to shop personnel; monitor repair progress; serve as a senior tradesman and maintain positive leadership; interact professionally with customers and support the Supervisor in executing all work; requires 10+ years in pump repair, API 610 knowledge, reading mechanical drawings, and ability to work in a shop environment without AC/heat
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 10+ years of experience in a pump repair shop
- Experience repairing API/Engineered pumps and related rotating equipment
- Understanding of API 610 and other Standards
- Ability to read pump sectional, machine drawings, and OEM manuals
- Ability to disassemble, inspect, and write detailed rotating equipment reports
- Proficiency with hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools
- Experience with pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of parts/equipment
- Ability to read mechanical seal drawings and perform removal/installation with testing
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
