Job Summary
Commission protective relaying equipment, DFRs, SCADA systems, and automation systems through end-to-end testing using Doble Protection Suite, Omicron Test Universe, and RTS. Execute functional and scheme testing including reclosing, breaker failure, logic schemes, and communication-assisted protection while troubleshooting protocols like DNP3, Modbus, and 8979 with Wireshark and Accelerator. Support development of standardized testing procedures and provide guidance to junior technicians. Collaborate with clients, vendors, and engineering teams to ensure reliable project outcomes across substation projects. Requires 1-5 years of field experience in relay testing and proficiency with Omicron, Doble, Vanguard, and related test equipment.
Required Qualifications
- 1-5 years field experience in relay testing, calibration, or substation commissioning without direct supervision
- Strong understanding of three‐phase power systems and protection schemes
- Proficiency with Omicron, Doble, Vanguard, and related test equipment
- Skilled in RTS, Test Universe, Protection Suite, and Accelerator
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel
