Senior Property Underwriter

Job Summary
Support the delivery of financial plans and ensure underwriting aligns with internal guidelines and timelines. Collaborate with stakeholders across the market to grow the property portfolio and promote Zurich's capabilities. Drive continuous improvement through coaching, development, and process optimization while leveraging underwriting tools, AI, and IT systems to enhance service delivery. Manage expenses with a focus on cost efficiency and implement quality assurance measures. Stay informed on legislative and industry changes to contribute to strategic decisions. This role reports to the General Manager within a small, agile team focused on driving growth and innovation in New Zealand's commercial property portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in underwriting or senior underwriting roles
- Proven success in outcome-driven underwriting and stakeholder collaboration
- Strong understanding of customer loyalty and retention strategies
- Proficiency in Office 365, AI technologies, and relevant underwriting software tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels
- Analytical thinking and commercial insight, with the ability to solve complex problems and lead process improvements
