Job Summary
Senior Property Accountant responsible for full-cycle accounting for commercial real estate properties, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial reporting. Key duties include reconciling balance sheet accounts and producing monthly financial statements, analyzing variances with budgets, reconciling taxes and assessments, monitoring cash positions, performing monthly bank reconciliations, managing receivables/payables and tenant billings, calculating year-end operating cost adjustments (CAM) and percentage rent, reviewing credit memos and cash receipts, leasing data entry into MRI software, consolidating monthly reporting packages for ownership, and coordinating with tenants, investors, vendors, and other intermediaries. Requires independent motivation, professional demeanor, and a high degree of discretion; Bachelor’s in Accounting is required with 5-7+ years CRE/REIT accounting experience; MRI Real Estate Software proficiency and MS Office skills are required. CPA preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 5-7+ years of experience in commercial real estate or REIT accounting
- Advanced experience with MRI Real Estate Software
- MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
