Senior Property Accountant

Job Summary
Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for a portfolio of residential properties. Establish working relationships with properties and upper management while enforcing GAAP principles. Complete the monthly close process, including maintaining general ledger accounts, providing account analysis, and reconciling balance sheets. Oversee Accounts Payable and third-party accounting providers, process weekly check runs, and reconcile intercompany accounts. Assist with onboarding new properties, annual budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation. Support property management teams with financial inquiries and reporting needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 3-5 years' experience in a real estate management environment
- Must be prepared to work with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to positively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Must be able to analyze data and supporting evidence to provide recommendations
- Possess positive interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of real estate and multi-family industry
- Must be flexible in a fast-paced and changing work environment
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must have Yardi accounting software experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Capacity to meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
