Job Summary
Control all field activities, supervise Project Superintendent and Field Engineer staff, and manage subcontractors, vendors, and daily construction operations for projects ranging from $60M to $150M+. Develop and enforce site logistics, safety programs, and quality control measures while coordinating material deliveries and managing subcontractor scopes. Maintain accurate schedules, P6 baselines, and daily reports; conduct inspections, resolve conflicts, and document conditions before work begins. Assist in preparing bid packages and managing change orders, claims, and cost impacts. Requires OSHA 30-Hour certification, P6 proficiency, and ability to work on-site in construction environments.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience in a related field
- 10-15 minimum years of relevant project field experience
- Experience as a Field Engineer, Assistant Project Superintendent, Project Superintendent or equivalent
- Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or P6 Scheduling Software and Project Management Software, such as Prolog, Viewpoint, CMiC or equivalent applications
- Experience using daily software tools, such as Bluebeam, Plan Grid, Safety Mojo, BIM 360 Glue, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of various construction delivery methods
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of various market sectors
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the construction administration process
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of building trades
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of technical aspects of construction including means and methods
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of materials
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of building systems
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of planning
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of scheduling
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of estimating

- Ability to provide healthy objective feedback to the project staff and receive similar feedback from upper management
- Ability to develop, maintain and enforce a project specific site logistics plan and temporary facilities
- Ability to develop, maintenance and enforcement of project specific site safety programs
- Ability to coordinate and manage all material deliveries and subcontracts
- Ability to assist the Project Manager in the preparation of the scopes of work for bid packages and / or subcontractor subcontracts
- Ability to provide input to the Project Manager on all field activities that impact the Change Order process
- Ability to develop, maintenance and enforcement of the overall baseline schedule and 8-week look ahead project specific schedules
- Ability to implement and manage all SWPPP measures and documentation
- Ability to obtain and maintain QSP certification, if required by the specific project you are overseeing
- Knowledge of all documents associated with the project including plans, specifications, prime contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings and submittals
- Ability to read and understand subcontracts and the associated exhibits
- Ability to enforce contractual obligations in the field
- Ability to maintain a complete and accurate set of working documents and As-Builts
- Ability to provide technical assistance to all members of the project team
- Ability to coordinate all field inspections and testing
- Ability to assist in providing pertinent field information that could affect the Monthly Reconciliation Report accuracy and forecasts
- Ability to develop, implementation, and enforcement of project-specific quality control program to include all subcontractors
- Ability to prepare and maintain the projects P6 baseline schedule and all subsequent monthly updates
- Ability to prepare and maintain the projects eight-week look ahead schedules
- Ability to insert schedule delays / fragnets into master P6 schedule to properly document delays
- Ability to monitor all job site control reporting measures
- Ability to assign areas of the project to your field support staff and oversee their progress
- Ability to video record / document all existing project conditions prior to any construction on site
- Ability to provide weekly progress photos to be properly labeled and filed on Box.Com
- Ability to conduct, and / or delegate, prepare meeting minutes for all weekly subcontractor meetings, pre-installation meetings, safety meetings, etc.
- Ability to create, and / or delegate, and issue all project specific Incident Reports
- Ability to schedule, chair, and / or delegate, all JHA related meetings
- Ability to utilize the WEO safety department when applicable
- Ability to oversee and manage the daily coordination of all daily subcontractor activities
- Ability to provide input to the Project Manager on field activities that have cost impacts in the field
- Ability to follow WEO procedures for documenting all change order and back charge related work
- Ability to document all actions dealing with actual or possible claims / legal action
- Ability to ensure that all requirements of insurance, labor relations, and EEO are adhered to
- Ability to oversee and supervision of all WEO employed or 3rd party provided laborers
- Ability to prepare and submit weekly time sheets pertaining to WEO specific labor force
- Ability to assist the Project Manager in the development of the General Conditions budget
- Ability to assist the Project Manager in the development of all subcontractor specific scopes of work
- Understanding and enforcement of WEO and Cal-OSHA safety standards
- Ability to collect man counts and daily reports for each subcontractor on site
- Ability to write concise, comprehensive descriptions of each day's work performed on site in WEO daily report
- Ability to create and manage completion and punch lists and ensure the timely completion of all punch lists and completion lists items
- Ability to mentor field staff and conducting annual performance reviews
- Having a coaching tree of successful Project Superintendent(s), Assistant Project Superintendent(s), and Field Engineer(s), which serves as proof of an ability to mentor and train your replacement
