Job Summary
Senior Project Officer, Cancer to support NACCHO’s Cancer Program and national cancer initiatives. Responsibilities include leading and coordinating Cancer Program initiatives, managing timelines, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and reporting requirements; developing high-quality written materials (briefs, reports, consultation summaries, governance papers, presentations, stakeholder correspondence, and executive documentation); analyzing program information, stakeholder feedback, data, and emerging issues to support evidence-informed planning, implementation, and continuous improvement; collaborating with ACCHOs, Affiliates, government agencies, clinicians, and stakeholders to advance culturally safe, community-led cancer outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The role requires strong project management capability, highly developed written communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in public health, project management, policy, health administration, Aboriginal health, or a related field are highly desirable
- Experience in project management, program delivery, or stakeholder engagement
- Strong written communication skills, including reports, briefs, and presentations
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
