Job Summary
Manage utility investigations, relocations, and protection strategies from concept through construction for complex rail and transit infrastructure projects in the Greater Toronto Area. Coordinate closely with utility owners and third-party agencies to align project delivery, while identifying and mitigating risks related to utility conflicts to ensure minimal disruption to scope, schedule, and cost. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate utility solutions into broader designs, review utility designs for alignment with client standards and regulatory requirements, and develop strategies for utility relocations including contract packaging. Mentor junior team members to build internal capability in utilities management.
Required Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline
- Minimum 8 years of experience in utilities investigation, coordination, or design on large infrastructure projects
- Proven experience managing utilities during the construction phase of projects
- Strong knowledge of Ontario regulations, codes, and frameworks for utilities and civil infrastructure
- Experience working with agencies such as MTO, Metrolinx, TTC, and municipal stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and review complex design drawings across disciplines
- Experience developing Utility Conflict Plans, matrices, and relocation strategies
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills within complex project environments
