Job Summary
Senior Project Manager to lead cross-functional teams delivering electrification projects (power electronics, motors, battery solutions) for automotive, rail, and commercial vehicle programs. Based in Gateshead, UK, the role requires managing end-to-end project delivery from pursuit through handover to manufacturing, developing and maintaining project plans, and ensuring time, cost, and quality targets are met. Responsibilities include leading engineers and supporting functions (supply chain, quality, finance), coordinating with large OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, managing risk and change, identifying new opportunities with Sales/Product, negotiating with suppliers, and mentoring other project managers. Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office, familiarity with APQP/PPAP/8D, and strong leadership and communication skills are required. Bonus points for experience with OEMs, new product development in electrification, Innovate UK projects, ISO/IEC safety standards, and confidential contracting experience.
Required Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent in an appropriate program management or engineering discipline.
- A project management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ) or significant relevant experience using formal project management methodologies.
