Job Summary
Senior Project Manager to oversee multiple commercial construction projects in Vancouver, BC. Lead preconstruction reviews, assist with estimates, participate in tenders and scope reviews, and oversee execution of client contracts. Engage with architects and engineers, review Project Execution Plans and QC Plans, participate in start-up and ongoing project procedures, and lead staff resourcing and training. Drive safety, ethics, and compliance while monitoring project schedules, forecasting, and risk management. Conduct regular jobsite visits, QC inspections, and contribute to Lean initiatives and continuous improvement of procedures; foster open information exchange and lead meetings on budgeting, QC, and performance. Maintain up-to-date Launch and Closeout procedures and ensure project status is reported during launch/closeout. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture and minimum 8 years of construction experience; eligible to work in Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering or Architecture
- minimum 8 years of building construction experience
- Excellent knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques; basic understanding of Turner accounting procedures
- Advanced knowledge of construction methods and materials; installation procedures and tolerances
- Management and leadership experience
- Excellent presentation delivery, verbal, and written communication skills
- Understand continuous improvement methods and tools
- Problem solving and analytical capabilities; familiar with lean concepts
- Advanced project management skills; ability to manage concurrent projects and prioritize
- Approachable and able to interact with all employee levels and management
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
