Job Summary

Senior Project Manager responsible for leading and interface with stakeholders to realise schedule and Capex budget for large SP Transmission reinforcement projects. Oversee governance, contracts, financial forecasting, risk mitigation, and lifecycle delivery; drive performance through innovation, value engineering, and best practices; manage multi-disciplinary internal teams and external contractors; champion stakeholder engagement with internal teams (design, PMO, environment, sustainability, land & planning, regulation, procurement, legal) and external bodies (local authorities, regulators, communities); ensure safety, environmental compliance, budget adherence, scheduling, and quality; promote continuous improvement through lessons learned and project reviews. Requires leadership in development phases (design and consenting), degree in engineering/management or related, experience with NEC/JCT/FIDIC contracts, knowledge of electricity transmission systems, experience with Section 37 and EIA, financial forecasting and cost control, CDM regulations, and strong stakeholder governance.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in NEC 3 / 4 contract frameworks
  • Experience of managing a complex programme of contracts, multiple work programmes and commercial contracts
  • Section 37 and EIA experience
  • Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, particularly CDM regulations
  • Experience in infrastructure planning and consenting requirements including Section 37 and EIA
  • Financial acumen - forecasting, cost control, and capital efficiency planning
  • Management of stakeholders and Governance for allocated projects
  • Experience with project management methodologies, risk management, and contract administration (NEC, JCT, FIDIC)
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders without direct line authority
  • Driving license (travel across SPEN locations required)
  • Minimum criteria: Experience in a multi-disciplinary team environments
  • Knowledge of NEC 3/4 contract frameworks
