Job Summary
Steer all technical aspects of roadway engineering, leading project design, production, and quality assurance to deliver innovative solutions. Communicate with clients and project teams to exceed expectations, while leveraging connections to identify opportunities, support proposals, and select teaming partners. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers and NEPA specialists on projects impacting Illinois, utilizing nationwide resources to broaden experience and share insights. Maintain project budgets and schedules, ensuring all deadlines and milestones are met while mentoring associates. This role supports the Transportation Practice's expansion strategy within the employee-owned firm, partnering with agencies to improve community infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineering License in Illinois or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a similar discipline from an ABET-accredited university
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience
- Experience managing or serving as a technical lead on transportation projects with a construction value of $50M to $500M
- Knowledge of IDOT, Illinois Tollway, and Federal Highway Administration policies and procedures
- Experience with OpenRoads, MicroStation, and/or Corridor Modeling programs
- Ability to maintain budgets, stay on schedule, and meet all deadlines and interim milestones
