Job Summary
Lead and manage product development projects within the Spine R&D organization from initiation through completion, driving execution through the Gate-based New Product Development (NPD) process. Independently manage projects of moderate scope and complexity, ensuring alignment of cross-functional teams, achievement of key milestones, and compliance with regulatory and quality requirements. Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and resource constraints, partnering with R&D, PMO, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain functions to develop mitigation strategies and facilitate disciplined decision-making. Prepare status updates, risks, and action plans for stakeholders while supporting continuous improvement of project governance practices. This role operates within a matrixed environment supporting the transition to the standalone DePuy Synthes company.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- 4+ years of project management experience, preferably in the medical device industry
- Demonstrated success managing projects from initiation through completion, with accountability for scope, schedule, and deliverables
- Experience supporting product development projects within a structured New Product Development (NPD) environment
- Proven ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders within a matrixed organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, evaluate alternatives, and support effective resolution of project challenges
- Highly organized and self-directed, with demonstrated success managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate project outputs
- Proficiency with standard project management and productivity tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems
