Job Summary
Lead the growth of a local transportation practice by creating a vision for expansion, assisting in marketing and business development with municipal, state, and private clients, and delivering transportation planning, traffic engineering, and ITS-related projects. Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, and grow and mentor the team while maintaining positive client relationships through open communication. Operate with integrity and sound business principles to establish goals and direct resources effectively, leveraging autonomy to pursue personal project opportunities and clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
- At least 15 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design
- Registered license (PE and/or TE)
- Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in Sacramento and surrounding communities
- Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or local municipalities
- Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
- Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
- Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
