Senior Project Manager - Ports & Marine

Job Summary

Manage multiple simultaneous ports and marine projects across the Gulf Coast, providing structural and civil engineering technical expertise while strengthening client relationships and driving sales growth. Assist the group manager in growing the port practice by developing new client connections and ensuring projects meet quality, timeliness, and budget parameters. Lead a team of engineers to deliver high-quality solutions for container terminals, LNG facilities, and waterfront developments, acting as a problem solver who identifies key client requirements. Provide project and task management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, while mentoring staff to support the firm's global maritime services.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in Structural, Civil Engineering or Maritime engineering
  • Valid Drivers License

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer Registration (Texas preferred)
  • 10 years of related design experience in a variety of seaport related infrastructure such as container terminal, dry bulk, and liquid bulk terminal wharves and uplands, showing progressive career growth
  • Previous experience in leading projects to required quality, timeliness, and budget parameters
  • Accountable for cementing client relationships on continuing projects and for growing sales and booking growth from area clients
  • Houston Resident
  • Established residency in area
  • MS in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Experience in ports, marine, or waterfront projects
  • Proficiency in engineering drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley MicroStation
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Prior experience working with public agencies, private clients, and major port authorities
  • Strong business development experience, including proposal writing and client negotiations
