Job Summary
Assist senior development staff in the acquisition, underwriting, financing, and overall development of new construction and rehabilitation projects for affordable housing. Review financial information to prepare models, analyze market data and demographic trends to support property acquisitions, and prepare funding applications for lenders, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and other financing sources. Participate in public hearings, interface with lenders and government agencies for loan closings, and interact with third-party consultants to ensure timely service delivery. Gather due diligence for external parties, prepare proposals for government Requests-For-Proposals, and prepare monthly funding requisitions during the construction period. This role supports the Head of Development at Paths, a vertically integrated developer managing over 15,000 units across 13 states.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of work experience
- at least 2 years in affordable housing development or finance or related field
- Bachelor's Degree
- Must be detail oriented
- organized
- able to multi-task
- Ability to work in an individual capacity and as a team
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in Word
- Proficiency in PowerPoint
- Some travel
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Knowledge of HUD Project-Based Section 8
- Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit programs
