Job Summary
Senior Project Manager responsible for overseeing complex construction programs for the Los Angeles Unified School District Facilities Services Division. Manages construction project issues, monitors schedules and cost control, reviews and approves change orders, leads bid and contract planning, ensures fiscal management across multiple projects, provides direction on contracts with architects and consultants, coordinates cross-divisional activities, and develops internal policies and procedures. Includes oversight of project schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, and quality control, with emphasis on educational facility construction and large public works projects, leveraging BIM, LEED/CHPS experience, and CCM credential where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- 17 years full time paid professional project/construction management experience
- 5 years of experience in managing large programs with projects having construction values in excess of $50 million (not cumulative)
- 5 years’ experience in educational facility construction, public works or large commercial projects (may include projects outside of California)
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management OR CCM credential within one year OR CCM credential can substitute for education
- Preferred Licenses and Certificates: A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
