Job Summary
Senior Project Manager - NPD leads end-to-end planning and execution of New Product Development initiatives within Generac’s Industrial Energy portfolio. Responsibilities include translating product strategy and technical requirements into structured project plans, managing multiple large global projects across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and product management, driving cross-functional collaboration, establishing governance with phase-gate processes, identifying and mitigating risks, and supporting sourcing and cost optimization decisions across the product lifecycle. The role requires strong leadership in coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver new products, cost reductions, and lifecycle improvements for industrial energy systems, with a track record of meeting scope, cost, quality, and schedule commitments. Minimum qualification includes a Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related experience with 7+ years in NPD-type project environments. It emphasizes proficiency with formal development processes, global coordination, and financial/budget management within industrial equipment contexts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering, project management, or industrial equipment/product environments
- 7+ years of project management experience in New Product Development with global cross functional teams and global product releases throughout the entire product life cycle
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex global product development or product launch initiatives
- Strong financial acumen including cost management and lifecycle optimization
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
- Experience delivering projects on time, within budget, and with quality targets in industrial energy or similar domains
