Job Summary
Senior Project Manager leads and delivers complex multifamily and hospitality construction projects, supervising Project Teams and potentially other Project Managers to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery consistent with contract documents and Layton’s values. Responsibilities include preparing budgets and estimates, negotiating prime contracts and subcontracts, developing the Project Management Plan, coordinating pre-construction planning, value engineering, procurement of materials/equipment, managing change orders and project costs, conducting regular site visits to monitor safety, quality, and schedule performance, and guiding project close-out activities such as as-builts, punch lists, and permits. Strong emphasis on leadership, client relations, and adherence to project plans, with proven ability to manage budgets, contract language, and regulatory requirements while delivering predictable outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8+ years of project management experience
- Strong history of leading complex ground-up multifamily and/or hospitality developments from inception through completion
- Experience in negotiating contracts and managing change orders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience in negotiating contracts
- Understanding of building codes and design requirements
- Ability to manage project costs and schedule effectively
- Integrity and adherence to ethical standards
