Job Summary

Serve as the primary point of contact with clients and key stakeholders from pre-contract award through project closeout, managing the full design-build lifecycle including pre-construction planning, design coordination, and final commissioning. Lead pre-construction activities such as design development, value engineering, cost estimating, and risk management while coordinating with internal teams and external partners to develop design packages and specifications. Own the project schedule and budget, overseeing financial obligations, change orders, and procurement efforts to meet profitability targets and deliver predictable results. Review site drawings for accuracy, lead coordination of trade partners and inspectors, and enforce quality control and safety plans aligned with project requirements and internal standards. Operate cross-functionally across the organization, supporting Business Development and Strategic R&D as relevant to active projects.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience managing large-scale construction projects, including design-build delivery
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • Experience successfully managing the full lifecycle of complex construction projects across residential, commercial, or institutional sectors
  • Diverse background that includes specialized skills across disciplines such as engineering, architecture, construction management, or purchasing
  • Demonstrated proficiency with construction project management software tools (e.g., Procore, Smartsheet, Primavera P6, Bluebeam)
  • Proven ability to develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and formal client and stakeholder reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, operate with independence and autonomy, and remain composed under pressure
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), General Contractor License, PMP, CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or CPC (Certified Professional Constructor) certification
  • Experience on MILCON, USACE- or NAVFAC-administered, or other federal and government construction projects (for MILCON Project Manager assignment)
  • Working knowledge of UFC (Unified Facilities Criteria), USACE/NAVFAC design and construction standards, FAR/DFARS procurement requirements, or EM 385-1-1 safety standards (for MILCON Project Manager assignment)
  • Experience incorporating advanced or innovative construction technologies in construction
  • A high level of practical, hands-on construction knowledge across multiple building types and delivery methods
