Job Summary
Lead end-to-end project management for a high-volume research communications and publications program, directing coordination with government stakeholders and overseeing production of materials ranging from one-page flyers to 300+ page technical reports. Manage staffing, scheduling, budget, risk, and performance metrics across multiple concurrent projects while supervising a multidisciplinary team of writers, editors, designers, and multimedia specialists. Ensure staff maintain accurate, up-to-date project tracking and status reporting, and drive continuous improvement in workflow, quality control, and delivery timeliness. This full-time remote position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, with occasional in-person travel to Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center in McLean, VA, or Department of Transportation HQ in Washington, DC.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree, OR Bachelor's degree with relevant experience, in Business, Marketing/Communications, or a related technical discipline
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including leadership of multidisciplinary teams and management of marketing/communications programs
- Demonstrated experience supervising publication of technical information across a wide range of formats and lengths
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the highway or surface transportation sector
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Prior experience managing a Federal government contract or task order
