Job Summary
Lead planning, execution, and completion of the high-voltage substation project, including grid connection, transformers, and switchgear installation. Manage interfaces between utility providers, clients, designers, and contractors while overseeing energisation strategy, outage planning, and safe switching procedures. Develop project schedules, budgets, and risk registers to ensure compliance with electrical standards and statutory regulations. Coordinate commissioning activities, progress updates, and technical reporting to senior stakeholders, ensuring full documentation and handover of as-built drawings and operational procedures. Manage subcontractors and specialist vendors to maintain quality and safety standards across the delivery lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
- Minimum 10+ years' experience delivering electrical infrastructure or substation projects
- Strong understanding of high-voltage systems, protection, earthing and commissioning processes
- Experience working with utility providers and grid connection processes
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with construction contracts such as FIDIC, NEC or similar
- Ability to manage complex technical interfaces and resolve project conflicts
- Proficient in project management and reporting tools
- Professional certification (PMP or equivalent)
