Job Summary
Senior Project Manager leads projects on behalf of Layton Construction, supervising project teams, managing budgets and schedules, negotiating subcontracts, coordinating permits and regulatory requirements, and ensuring adherence to contract documents and Layton’s standards. The role involves guiding project teams, delivering predictable outcomes, maintaining safety and quality, participating in pre-construction planning, developing the Project Management Plan, and collaborating with the Project Superintendent to ensure successful project delivery across complex ground-up multifamily and hospitality developments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8+ years of project management experience
- Strong history of leading complex ground-up multifamily and/or hospitality developments
- Experience in estimating concepts and change orders
- Experience in negotiating contracts
- Understanding of building codes and design requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Integrity and adherence to ethics and company policies
- Ability to supervise project teams and delegate responsibilities
- Ability to prepare project budgets and manage project costs
- Experience with procurement of materials and equipment within budget
- Experience with permits and regulatory requirements
- Experience with project scheduling and milestone development
- Experience with pre-construction planning and coordination
- Knowledge of contract documents and project management plans
- Team collaboration and leadership skills
- Negotiation skills with owners and subcontractors
- Ability to monitor safety, quality, and schedule performance
- Experience with post-completion close-out procedures
