Job Summary
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of commercial real estate capital projects from inception through completion, serving as the primary client contact and trusted advisor. Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules while coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors across design, construction, and closeout phases. Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Coordinators, providing daily direction and performance coaching. Partner with the Business Unit Director to execute account strategy, manage project portfolios, and identify growth opportunities. Conduct regular site visits to verify quality and progress, administer contracts, and facilitate executive reporting on status and risks. This embedded role supports a leading global technology company in San Jose, California, requiring 7-10 years of experience in commercial real estate capital projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field
- 7-10 years of experience managing commercial real estate capital projects, including design, construction, and project delivery within corporate environments
- Construction project management experience
- Experience with labs and their power and cooling requirements
- Ability to work onsite in accordance with client requirements
- Ability to travel as needed to support project activities (anticipated travel less than 25%)
- Ability to occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred
- Experience delivering technically complex projects, with expertise in MEP or infrastructure preferred
- PMP or comparable professional certification is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and project management technologies
