Senior Project Manager, Building Sciences (BCA/PCA Service Line Lead)

Job Summary
Establish and lead Vertex's Building Condition Assessment and Property Condition Assessment service line, defining high-quality, defensible methodologies and acting as Engineer of Record to seal reports per provincial regulations. Build and mentor field teams of technologists and inspectors, developing standardized protocols and QA/QC systems to ensure consistent data collection and clear capital planning insights for lenders and investors. Oversee project execution across commercial, industrial, and multi-residential portfolios while managing risk through transparent communication of scope and limitations. Support expansion into reserve fund studies and the condominium market, integrating services with existing building science offerings. This role combines technical expertise with sound judgment to deliver assessments supporting real-world investment decisions within a scalable, entrepreneurial environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Building Science Engineering
- Eng. designation in good standing with a Canadian provincial regulator
- 10+ years of experience in building sciences, with significant BCA/PCA and capital planning experience
- Strong understanding of building systems and lifecycle performance
- Deep familiarity with ASTM E2018 and related assessment frameworks
- Proven experience training, mentoring, and overseeing field-based assessment teams
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to produce clear, defensible, client-ready reports
Desired Qualifications
- Multi-provincial licensing is an asset
