Job Summary
Lead multiple commercial, retail, and industrial projects simultaneously while acting as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders. Coordinate internal teams and external sub-consultants, oversee contract administration, and conduct regular site visits to resolve on-site construction challenges. Review and approve shop drawings, RFIs, proposals, and budgets, perform building code reviews, and ensure compliance with current standards. Support design development through sketches and occasional 3D studies, contribute to firm growth initiatives, and mentor team members. Based in Markham with hybrid flexibility, this role offers a salary of $120,000–$140,000 for a senior leader joining an established architecture and urban design practice with over six decades of impact across Canada and internationally.
Required Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture, Architectural Science, or Architectural Technology
- 15+ years of relevant experience, specifically in commercial, retail, and/or industrial sectors
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, detailing, and building science
- Proven experience leading multiple projects at once
- Confident communicator with clients, consultants, contractors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction
- Experience in contract administration and site coordination
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
