Job Summary
Senior Project Engineer is responsible for a defined portion of a project and is accountable for maintaining up-to-date documents (drawings, project schedule, as-builts, submittals, logs, test results, etc.), coordinating with the Superintendent to plan and coordinate upcoming work, and expediting delivery of equipment and materials. The role assists the Project Manager in monitoring project status and identifying opportunities to manage the project more effectively, including cost control, change orders, shop drawings/submittals, RFIs, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality guidelines. Responsibilities span preconstruction support, developing cost estimates for change orders, maintaining master schedules, verifying quantities for weekly labor reports, assembling delivery tickets and invoicing information, reviewing project cost reports, and maintaining effective working relationships with subcontractors and clients. The position requires leveraging engineering/construction management knowledge to support project success, QA/QC, site coordination, and compliance with safety policies, while contributing to a safe, efficient, and positive construction experience for the client.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field and 18 months of experience in project engineering, construction project management, or related activities with exposure to projects of minor to moderate scope, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
