Senior Project Engineer - Salt Lake City, UT

Job Summary
Lead engineering design projects on large, more complex roadway/interstate improvements; apply civil-engineering knowledge to design roadway improvements for streets, highways, and interstates; communicate ideas through drawings, reports, and meetings; adhere to design standards using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D; provide input on scopes of work, fees, and schedules; coordinate with drainage, utilities, structures, signals, lighting, ITS, and other disciplines; develop stakeholder exhibits and technical reports; mentor junior engineers; interact with clients to convey design intent; support technical and financial aspects of projects and business development. Responsibilities include coordination with managers, engineers, and technicians, and ensuring work aligns with USDOT/UDOT standards and project deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required
- Professional Engineering license in Utah or ability to obtain a Utah PE within 6 months of hire
- 10+ years of roadway design experience is required
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, Microsoft Excel, and other applications typically used by roadway design professionals
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of UDOT standards, specifications, and processes is preferred
