Job Summary
Senior Project Engineer – Owner’s Representative embedded within the utility’s project execution team, serving as the technical and coordination lead between the client and Houston-based engineering partner. Phase 1 is remote with bi-weekly travel to Houston, followed by a field assignment at the Santa Clarita gas storage facility; potential continuation on future client programs. Requires 7+ years in project engineering with gas compression/storage experience; strong EPC/execution background and ability to manage owner perspectives, third-party engineering organizations, schedules, budgets, and regulatory compliance; responsibilities include reviewing drawings/submittals, monitoring scope and fit-for-purpose engineering, coordinating with vendors and stakeholders, and providing regular project status updates. Compensation range $130,000–$165,000 DOE; long-term W2 or C2C engagement.
Required Qualifications
- 7 or more years of experience in project engineering roles, with demonstrated depth in gas compression, storage, or analogous capital-scale energy infrastructure
- Background in gas compression, gas storage, or closely related energy infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to represent the owner’s perspective and manage third-party engineering organizations
- Availability to travel to Houston, TX on a bi-weekly basis for the duration of the assignment
