Job Summary
Senior Project Engineer to lead the execution of large, capital projects from concept through commissioning in a manufacturing environment. Responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with defined scope and performance expectations. Oversees multi-discipline engineering scopes (mechanical/electrical/controls), procurement, contractor management, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement. Applies lean principles, drives cost-saving opportunities, ensures compliance with safety and environmental policies, and delivers investment-grade cost estimates and formal documentation. Travel up to 40–50% across North America; roles encompass leadership of project teams, coordination with plant leadership, and liaison with suppliers and external partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical)
- 5+ years of engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Proven project management experience with projects ranging from $1M to $20M+
- Demonstrated mechanical and/or electrical engineering expertise
- Strong leadership, initiative, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with project scheduling tools such as MS Project
- Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and bid processes
- Experience developing estimates, schedules, and project deliverables
- Proven ability to write, review, and negotiate technical specifications and contracts
- Willingness to travel approximately 40–50%
