Senior Project Engineer – Electrical

Job Summary
Lead design, analysis, and validation of electrical systems including power distribution, protection, control systems, and vehicle architectures. Provide technical leadership for complex engineering problems, driving root cause investigations and implementing robust, long-term solutions. Develop and maintain technical standards, design methodologies, and validation frameworks while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Service teams to deliver commercially sound engineering solutions and support new product development. Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance and structured knowledge sharing. Apply sound engineering judgement to balance technical integrity, manufacturability, cost, and delivery objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years' experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- demonstrated experience leading complex engineering problems
- advanced electrical analysis (circuit design, load calculations, harness/system design or equivalent)
- root cause investigations with system-level outcomes
- driving engineering standards or process improvements
- strong engineering judgement
- ability to thrive operating with autonomy in ambiguous, high-paced environments
- ability to enjoy guiding others without needing formal authority
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in automotive electrical engineering
- Experience in vehicle wiring and harness design
- Experience in compliance or regulatory engineering (e.g. ADR, AS/NZS wiring standards)
- Experience in product development/R&D environments
