Senior Project Engineer-Construction Engineering and Inspection

Job Summary
Manage heavy civil, highway, and structures projects from start to finish, leading teams of field inspectors and project administration staff to coordinate inspection needs and fulfill contract scope. Approve pay estimates, final estimates, change orders, and claims while performing plan reviews and managing schedule and financial progress. Provide technical oversight to Field Inspection Staff, facilitating understanding of construction engineering techniques and FDOT standards, and create and maintain healthy client relationships. Take ownership of CEI projects while marketing upcoming pursuits. Requires a Florida PE license, eight years of experience managing highway and bridge construction, and FDOT Advanced MOT certification.
Required Qualifications
- licensed Professional Engineer
- minimum of eight (8) years of experience managing construction projects in Florida
- experience working for and with the Florida Department of Transportation
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a similar accredited engineering degree
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida
- Problem Resolution Skills/Ability and confidence to recommend field changes to drawings/specifications
- Excellent Communication Skills, both Verbal and Written
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and build teams
- FDOT Advanced MOT Certification
- CTQP Quality Control Manager and CTQP Final Estimates II
- Must pass mandatory DMV check
