Senior Project Engineer - Civil

Job Summary
Plan, structure, and oversee major civil and structural rehabilitation projects for hydroelectric stations and wind farms, from definition through completion. Conduct or coordinate technical inspections of dams, spillways, and turbine structures; assess asset conditions, analyze risks, and provide prioritized recommendations for safety and regulatory compliance. Actively support Operations and Maintenance teams during planned and corrective interventions, including root cause analysis and sustainable corrective action strategies. Ensure technical coordination among internal and external stakeholders while participating in cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments. Serve as a technical reference for the Civil Operations team, mentoring staff and developing maintenance standards. This role requires frequent travel throughout Canada and the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience in civil and structural rehabilitation projects
- Experience with existing operating infrastructure (dams, concrete structures, industrial buildings, and foundations)
- Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written
- Capability to serve as a technical reference for internal teams and operating sites
- Comfort with field work
- Project management skills
- Ability to coordinate various project factors (health and safety, environment, schedule, budget, etc.)
- Demonstrated initiative and autonomy in carrying out assignments
- Strong sense of accountability, quality, and risk management
- Availability for frequent travel throughout Canada and the United States
