Job Summary
Senior Project Engineer - Automation at ABB in Houston, TX Hybrid role leading/acting as technical lead or design authority for Process Automation projects across Renewables, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power Generation and Water treatment with ABB or 3rd party systems. Responsibilities include delivering Distributed Control System projects on time and within budget, addressing technical issues remotely and on-site in US and abroad, supporting project managers with claims, specifications, safety standards, costs and deliverables, and designing/testing/commissioning automation enclosures, control logic, and HMI. Requires 5+ years of DCS experience, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and strong leadership and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or other engineering degree
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, working as an Engineer with ABB Distributed Control Systems
- Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes, and tools
- Strong focus on safe work practices and following workplace safety guidelines
- Self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies
- Collaborative approach with strong communication and leadership skills
