Senior Project Architect

Job Summary

Design development, coordinate construction drawings, and oversee the entire project lifecycle from planning to post-occupancy. Manage project budgets, schedules, and contract negotiations while directing team efforts and coordinating with consultants and contractors. Maintain client relationships, ensure compliance with building codes and ADA standards, and lead design teams using Revit and MS Office. Requires California licensure, 10+ years of commercial architecture experience, and proficiency in sustainability guidelines. Full-time role in San Francisco or Sacramento with competitive compensation, medical, dental, and 401k benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of technical expertise in commercial architecture
  • Demonstrated success on a range of corporate project types (life science, healthcare, or high-tech laboratory design)
  • Core & Shell experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • California licensure
  • Proven capacity for leadership responsibilities and directing a team
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects, to set priorities and maintain schedules
  • Design development experience, planning, coordinating and overseeing the production of construction drawings
  • Experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy
  • Contract management, experience negotiating project scope and fees
  • Ability to develop and maintain the project budget and schedule, monitor and communicate production and financial progress
  • An understanding of building materials, details, and construction techniques
  • A thorough knowledge of building codes, standards, and ADA expertise
  • Ability to work constructively with entitlement agencies
  • Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines
  • Advanced knowledge of QA/QC process
  • Ability to coordinate with consultants and contractors
  • Construction administration skills and experience
  • Ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new ones
  • Must be proficient in Revit / Autodesk Building Design
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite

  • Life science experience
  • California licensure is a plus
