Job Summary
Senior Programmer Analyst to develop, maintain, and enhance highly complex computer applications for the Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) IT department. Responsibilities include conducting analysis of defined computer-oriented system problems and developing feasible solutions, assessing user requirements and translating logical designs into effective technical solutions, designing application systems and developing detailed design specifications, performing difficult and specialized programming assignments, maintaining systems and responding promptly to production issues and user concerns, diagnosing and correcting application software problems to prevent recurrence, developing detailed project plans using standard project management tools and methodologies, managing projects from concept through implementation and installation, applying effective time management across multiple priorities, communicating proposed technical solutions clearly to non-technical staff and stakeholders, performing structured testing and validation prior to deployment, and building strong customer relationships while collaborating with others to achieve shared objectives. Preferred qualifications include Oracle development experience; experience with SQL or PL/SQL; MS Access/Word/Excel; UNIX. Salary begins at 67,787 USD annually, plus a 13% premium for this position; benefits include health and dental insurance, pension plan, tuition reimbursement, and generous leave. Location: Augusta, ME, USA. The role requires post-secondary education in a computer-related field with 2 years of experience or 5 years of experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
