Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of the After School Program at Shannon Lake Elementary, developing and evaluating plans to meet the needs of children, youth, and families. Supervise and mentor activity leaders, providing direction, performance feedback, and resolving workplace disputes. Create activity calendars, manage behavior support, and lead recruitment, interviewing, and training of staff and volunteers. Maintain accurate records while adhering to Child Care Licensing Regulations as the Licensed Manager. Work 30 hours weekly from Monday to Friday between 12:00pm and 6:00pm at a rate of $23.98 per hour. This temporary role runs from September 2026 to June 2027 with potential additional hours during school breaks.
Required Qualifications
- A diploma, certificate, or completion of at least 20 hours of coursework in areas such as child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition (required for licensed programs)
- One (1) year of recent, related experience working with children or youth in recreation, education, or social services
- Valid First Aid and Food Safe Certificates
- Class 4 Driver's Licence or willingness to obtain
- Be at least 19 years of age as per Licensing Regulations
- Successful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record Check
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada
