Job Summary
Senior Program Director leads and directs Youth Services operations for Preschool Early Education and Care, School Age Child Care, Summer Full Day Camp, Teen Program, and related youth services. Responsible for visionary leadership, strategic planning, and cost-aware management of budgets; oversees recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and ongoing development of staff and volunteers; ensures compliance with licensing and safety standards; leads grants and contracts (e.g., MA Alliance of YMCA, DCF, CACFP) and fosters strong community partnerships; drives program quality improvements, family engagement, and communications with parents/guardians. Requires extensive experience in program management, nonprofit operations, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work in evenings and outside school hours, with bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, recreation, business, or a related field or equivalent experience
- YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification or progress toward certification within 1 year
- Five or more years of program management experience (preferably in a YMCA or nonprofit)
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budget management, program management, staff supervision, volunteer management, marketing and public relations
- Strong understanding of best practices in early education, school age child care, youth development, and facilities operations
- Ability to work out of school time and evening hours as needed
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
- Excellent communications, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision making skills
- Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of the YMCA
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and team-oriented environment
- CPR/First Aid Certification within 3 months
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
