Job Summary
Senior Professional Officer in Aerospace MRO focusing on designing, developing, and teaching laboratory sessions and practice-based modules in Aerospace MRO and related areas. Lead or co-lead innovative applied research and industry collaboration projects; secure and manage research grants; supervise and mentor students in applied research projects, Capstone Projects, and IWSP; manage laboratory facilities and ensure safety; develop learning resources and industry-relevant curriculum; collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to drive outcomes. Qualifications include a good Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with at least 7 years of relevant industry experience and expertise in Predictive Maintenance & Prognostics, Structural Health Monitoring and NDT/NDI, Digital Twins, autonomous inspection systems, additive manufacturing for aerospace repair, and related areas. Strong supervisory/mentoring skills and a passion for teaching and continuous learning are emphasized; relevant industry certifications are an added advantage. Key competencies include strong analytical/problem-solving abilities, stakeholder relationship management, adaptability, and a willingness to work across functions and teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
- At least 7 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a technical role
- Strong technical expertise in: Predictive Maintenance & Prognostics (PHM); Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and NDT/NDI; Digital Twins and physics-informed modelling; Aerospace robotics and autonomous inspection systems; Additive manufacturing for aerospace repair; Aircraft systems and MRO best practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead or co-lead applied research and industry collaboration projects
- Experience applying expertise to software solutions and supervisory/mentoring skills
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with internal/external stakeholders and drive teaching, applied research and innovation initiatives outcomes
