Senior Production Planner

Job Summary
Own the production schedule for the corporate manufacturing site, including daily priorities, weekly plan alignment, WIP flow, expedites, and recovery actions. Develop and maintain schedules that support customer demand, available capacity, material readiness, and on-time delivery goals while coordinating schedule changes caused by demand shifts, material constraints, labor constraints, quality issues, and production interruptions. Lead MRP/MPS planning activities across all manufacturing locations, reviewing recommendations and exceptions to identify risks before production or delivery is impacted. Drive weekly shortage reviews with Purchasing and Operations to translate planning requirements into actionable purchasing priorities and support supplier escalation efforts. Manage expedite priorities and recovery plans for critical customer orders, providing clear communication to Supply Chain, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Operations on risks and recovery timing. Work directly with operations leadership to validate priorities and ensure the schedule is executable on the floor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred
- 5+ years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, materials planning, supply planning, or manufacturing scheduling
- Strong ERP/MRP system experience, including MRP recommendations, demand/supply review, planned orders, and planning parameters
- Hands-on manufacturing scheduling experience in a complex routing, multi-step work order, or high-mix production environment
- Ability to connect customer demand, capacity, material availability, purchasing actions, and production execution
- Strong communication skills with the ability to drive accountability across Purchasing, Operations, Customer Service, and site leadership
- Comfortable working in the details while also improving process discipline over time
- Microsoft Office Experience required
- Detail oriented and good communications skills required
- Safety-toed shoes required on plant floor
- Must be able to work as part of a team or independently with limited supervision
Desired Qualifications
- High proficiency in MS Excel a plus
- Experience in custom manufacturing, converting, fabrication, packaging, medical manufacturing, or similar multi-step manufacturing environments is preferred
- Experience supporting OTD, RCCP, SIOP, capacity planning, inventory planning, or supplier shortage management is preferred
- APICS / ASCM certification or equivalent planning experience preferred, not required
