Job Summary
Provide senior technical production engineering expertise across Sinopec Canada assets, focusing on well performance, production optimization, and integrated system analysis. Accountable for designated area production performance, lead Sour Nisku reactivation projects with gas injection and waterflood schemes, and troubleshoot declining well performance, skin damage, hydrate formation, and corrosion. Prepare annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and technical materials for executive approvals while maintaining AER regulatory compliance. Oversee Artificial Lift performance, workover repair programs, and measurement systems using PowerBI and ProdView. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to align reservoir objectives with production systems and manage Joint Venture operations agreements.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 15+ years of Oil and Gas related experience, ideally in Production or Operations Engineering
- APEGA P.Eng. member in good standing
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Extensive experience in upstream oil and gas production engineering within Alberta, with a focus in sour oil considered an asset
- Working knowledge of all types of artificial lift design, selection, installation and operation, especially ESPs
- Experience leading production engineering studies, optimization programs, and multi-disciplinary technical evaluations
- Measurement system (SCADA and ProdView) experience
- Excellent computer skills with Microsoft applications, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI
- Confident preparing and presenting project proposals to management to gain support and approval
- Strong ability to manage workload and meet timelines with always changing priorities
- Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills demonstrating a detailed and efficient work style
- Ability to establish goals and objectives with designated timeframes and take accountability for successful execution with minimal supervision
- High level of integrity in all actions, complying with and promoting the company's core values, a respectful work environment, and aligning with the code of business conduct
