Job Summary
Senior Production Associate (Welder / Fitter) responsible for assembling, fitting, and fabricating metal components and structures per technical drawings and specifications. Requires interpretation of engineering drawings, use of hand and power tools, gas cutting, and fitting equipment; involvement in welding preparation and ensuring correct part positioning prior to welding. Welding proficiency includes GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW (TIG/MIG/SMAW/SAW) with emphasis on safety, quality, and adherence to WPS/PQR/WPQ. ITI fitter or Diploma preferred; 5–8 years of heavy fabrication experience; ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications; knowledge of EHS guidelines and quality inspection practices on machines and during assembly. Will operate in a heavy fabrication / pressure vessel context across nuclear turbine island technology environments, collaborating with global teams and supporting global customers.
Required Qualifications
- ITI fitter / Diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred
- Proven experience as a Heavy Fabrication Fitter (5 to 8 years)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Welder qualifications in GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW; TIG/MIG processes
- Understand and apply basic WPS/PQR/WPQ/WELD BOOK concepts
- Experience welding turbine components and related assemblies; TIG, MIG, SMAW, SAW techniques
- Safety-first approach with adherence to shop-floor safety procedures
- Knowledge of grinding, drilling, and fitting equipment; accurate measurement and marking
