Senior Product Manager, Reagents

Job Summary

Own product lines end-to-end, from customer discovery and roadmap definition through launch, growth, and ongoing support. Run customer interviews and market research with scientists at academic labs, pharma, and biotech firms to define workflows and unmet needs. Write PRDs, set pricing and packaging, and drive e-commerce storefront ownership including SKU setup and conversion optimization. Partner with foundry operations, supply chain, and engineering to ensure accurate order fulfillment, cold-chain compliance, and timely shipments. Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and track KPIs such as revenue, fulfillment SLAs, and NPS to inform operational decisions. Develop positioning and messaging assets, manage inbound support, and represent the team at industry conferences. This hands-on role combines strategic product thinking with execution in a small, high-ownership team focused on making biology easier to engineer.

Required Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in a life sciences field (e.g., biology, biochemistry, molecular or cell biology, bioengineering, synthetic biology) OR an MBA, product, or marketing degree paired with demonstrated experience in life sciences tools or reagents
  • 3–5 years of product management, product marketing, or commercial experience, ideally in life sciences tools, reagents, diagnostics, or scientific instrumentation
  • Track record of owning a product or product line end-to-end, from discovery and roadmap through launch and post-launch growth
  • Strong customer discovery and research instincts; comfortable talking to PhD-level scientists about their workflows and translating that into product decisions
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; comfortable building business cases, sizing markets, and analyzing product and operational metrics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to write professionally and clearly to a scientific (including PhD-level) audience
  • High-ownership, entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in a small team, wearing multiple hats, and moving fluidly between strategy and execution
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • This role is based in Boston, Massachusetts
  • This roll requires will require the employee to be onsite 5 days per week

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience launching reagent or kit products, ideally in protein expression, enzymes, cell-free systems, or AI-driven protein screening workflows
  • Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify), ERPs, and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)
  • Working knowledge of SEO and AEO best practices—including keyword research, on-page SEO, structured data/schema, and content optimization for AI answer engines—and hands-on experience with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Clearscope
  • Experience with cold-chain logistics, demand planning, or other operational aspects of a physical-product business
  • Bench experience in molecular or cell biology, biochemistry, or synthetic biology
  • Understanding of synthetic biology, drug discovery and development, or the broader life sciences tools market
  • Strong presentation (powerpoint or gslides) and spreadsheet skills (excel or gsheets)
